Growing Use of Plastics in the Construction Industry

Posted on 15th July 2014

In the past the construction industry has had a tendency to stick with the traditional tried and tested materials that have been used for many years. Despite this there is a growing use of plastics in the construction industry that is opening up a number of opportunities for innovation.

These days, versatile plastics are being used across the construction industry, with their excellent strength to weight ratio, durability, cost effectiveness and low maintenance amongst some of the most appealing benefits. The fact that plastics do not rot, rust or require regular re-painting makes them the ideal material for everything from seals, pipes and cables, to floor coverings and insulation.

Those of you who regularly follow our blog will know that we have built up considerable experience of manufacturing plastic products for the construction industry. The Hessiclip and WISABlock are just two of the products we have helped to develop; helping to improve the safety of workers on construction sites.
