Plastics Industry Awards 2015: And the award goes to...

... Ryetools in partnership with Coda Plastics.

The Plastic Industry Awards was set up in 2001 to reward innovation and exceptional performance within the plastics industry. In the decade and a half since the Awards' launch, it has recognised the consistent excellence of the major players in the field and encouraged new talent by inviting young designers, apprentices and trainees to compete.

A key area that the Plastics Industry Awards has recognised is the importance of partnerships within the industry. We can't all be experts at everything and, sometimes, the best results for the customer are achieved by working with our friends in the industry.

We were approached by soap manufacturer Imperial Leather with the request to produce three new kinds of cap for one of their products. Working with Ryetools - manufacturers of precision injection moulding tools - on a tight ten-week schedule, we were able to design and implement the products. We even managed to save the client some money by figuring out a system that enabled the finished product to be single-injection moulded.

The Award for Supplier Partnership (toolmaker) was presented to Ryetools by Alan Davies at a fun black tie event in London last month and speaking afterwards Director Maxine Hugill said:

"Ryetools Ltd won the 2015 Plastic Industry Award Supplier Partnership - Toolmaker Award for the work we did with Coda Plastics on Project Halo. We worked in very close partnership with Coda prior to them winning the tender for their customer. This continued through the design, pre-production, trialing, production and post-production stages of the project. We both adopted an open, honest and mutually respectful relationship from the start and throughout. This and the meticulous planning and ongoing communications between Coda and ourselves throughout the project resulted in the project being a great success for us both.

Coda strongly supported our entry for the 2015 Plastics Industry Award Supplier Partnership - Toolmaker Award by approving our entry and providing a 'glowing testimonial' for the consideration of the judging panel. We are extremely grateful to Coda for their effort as this provided the judges with invaluable evidence to support our entry which no doubt contributed to our win! Thank you."

At Coda Plastics we are always prepared to go the extra mile to assist a client. If that means contacting our friends in the industry and getting them to design a brand new tool to achieve the end result you require, then we are only too happy to oblige. Drop us an email to sales@coda-plastics.co.uk and we can discuss and implement your plastics design ideas.
