Coda Plastics has been based in North Walsham for over 40 years, continually expanding and innovating to be at the forefront of plastics and packaging manufacturing. Despite the global pandemic and the economic slowdown, Coda continues to grow and offer new opportunities, and is currently recruiting a Purchasing and Logistics Administrator on a full time contract, with an immediate start date.


The successful candidate must be computer literate, with excellent IT skills and confident to learn our ERP software system quickly. Preferably the candidate will have experience of purchasing and/or day to day logistics management, and experience in a similar role such as Purchasing Assistant, Purchasing Officer or Logistics Administrator. 


The candidate must be a flexible team player, with excellent communication skills. This role reports to the Customer Services Supervisor. 


This is a full time position with an immediate start date. Working hours are 8:30am - 5pm with 30 minutes for lunch. Salary to be confirmed, dependent on experience. 


Logistics planning and Purchasing Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Plan warehouse stock and distribution for efficiency in both operations and capacity
  • Organise transportation activities, including storage of goods, managing information accrued from point of origin to delivery
  • Execute logistics plan to move products to reach destinations on schedule
  • Review freight rates and other transportation costs to keep working costs low
  • Review stock levels and warehouse costs to work within set budgets
  • Monitor raw material stock levels and identify purchasing needs
  • Research potential suppliers
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery
  • Update internal ERP system (stock, dates, suppliers, quantities, discounts etc)
  • Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices
  • Prepare cost analyses for senior management team
  • Maintain updated records of invoices and contracts
  • Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
  • Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition


 Requirements

  • Good understanding of supply chain procedures ideally for both purchasing and logistics
  • Solid organisational skills
  • Flexibility to assist with holiday cover for Production Planning and Customer Services
  • Team Player
